EK BALAM
Ek Balam, Zona Arqueológica
Ek Balam tiene 45 estructuras y está rodeada por dos murallas concéntricas de piedra más otra que une los edificios centrales. Tiene un juego de pelota, un arco muy hermoso donde desemboca un sacbé (camino sagrado), que en épocas antiguas conectaban los reinos mayas; también podemos encontrar estelas y las llamadas serpientes jeroglificas, que son monumentos bellamente labrados en bloque de piedra. Las estructuras reúnen varios estilos arquitectónicos pero hay detalles que las hacen únicas, como imágenes con alas que semejan ángeles.
Como un atractivo adicional se encuentra el Cenote X-Canché, ubicado a 1.5 km de esta zona arqueológica. Cuenta con infraestructura para practicar rappel y tirolesa, con servicio de kayac, cabañas, comedor y áreas de descanso.
