Tuxtla Gutiérrez, a modern city with ancient roots

It is the capital city of the State of Chiapas. Its climate is hot and semi-humid with an average temperature of 72ºF. 

A modern city where the stories, languages and traditions of the Mexican tableland blend together. 

The streets in Tuxtla contain a combination of past and present. It is a beautiful city surrounded by lush vegetation. In downtown there is the Central Park and the beautiful Marimba park. During the evenings you can stroll arround this park and enjoy the marimba music played at the gazebo. There are many natural wonders nearby Tuxtla and the city offers very good touristic infrastructure, but 

most of all the warm and kindness of the people.

Underwater Archeology in Campeche

There have been located 23 differen shipwrecks in the coast of Campeche. The sites correspond to different time periods, ranging from the 17th to 20th centuries

There are three visiting sectors: 

Sector A

, the sites can be visited by beginner divers. It is located no more than 15 km from the Campeche coast.

In the “Bahía” (Bay) and “Vapor” (Steam), there are 20th Century objects. While in “Cañón de la Dársena” there are objets from the 17th and 18th Centuries. 

Sector B, the wreck sites lie in deep water and they are not very near the coast, so the sites are only recomended for experience divers. Today most of this wrecks have become coral reefs in their own right. The sites are: Perla Blanca (White Pearl), Rey Mar (King of the Sea), Emilio Manuel, and Don Lin. 

Sector C, named “La Barcaza” (The Barge), is 80 km from Seybaplaya, and it is only for experience divers.

Arqueología Subacuática en Campeche

En el litoral campechano se han localizado 23 naufragios de diferentes épocas, que van desde el siglo XVII al XX. Los sectores de visita son tres: 

El Sector A, para buzos principiantes, se ubica cerca de la costa de Campeche, a no más de 15 km de distancia. En la Bahía y el Vapor se encuentran objetos del siglo XX, mientras que en el Cañón de la Dársena se encuentran objetos del siglo XVII y XVIII. 

En el Sector B, los sitios se ubican a mayor profundidad y mayor distancia de la costa, aproximadamente a 30 km, por lo que este sector es para buzos certificados. Actualmente los naufragios se han convertido en arrecifes artificiales. Los sitios a explorar son: Perla Blanca, Rey Mar, Emilio Manuel y Don Lin. 

El Sector C, llamado La Barcaza, se ubica a 80 Km de Campeche y su puerto de salida es Seybaplaya. Este sitio sólo puede explorarse por buzos experimentados.
