GENERAL CEPEDA

It is known for the numerous archaeological discoveries that have been made in this region. Some of the beautiful places of Arteaga are: the Municipal Presidency; the remains of the San Francisco de los Patos Hacienda; the San Francisco de Asís Temple, built in the 18th century; the old wheat mill from the 17th century; and the arches of the old municipal market built in the 19th century. Nearby is Narigua Valley, that features rare native rock carvings, also called petroglyphs; and Rincón Colorado, known as "The Valley of Dinosaurs", this area is considered a paleontology reserve and has a museum with a collection of some of the fossils that have been found here. In La Rosa Dam, you can enjoy the nature, and is ideal for swimming and fishing. General Cepeda is a town in the Mexican state of Coahuila.
