DZIBILCHALTÚN
El centro maya de Dzibilchaltún, se localiza a 20 km al norte de Mérida, no tiene las pirámides gigantes como las de los sitios más conocidos, pero tiene otra característica especial: una capilla franciscana, un magnífico cenote donde se puede nadar,y el Templo de las Siete Muñecas, a través de la cual el sol aparece al amanecer del equinoccio de primavera y otoño.

The maya centre of Dzibilchaltún, 20km north of Mérida, doesn´t have the giant pyramids of the best-known sites, but has other special feature: a Franciscan chapel blending in whit the older ruins, a superb cenote where you can swin, and one of the cosmological tricks that fascinate in Maya architecture, the temple of the seven dolls, through which the sun appears at dawn on the spring and autumn equinoxes.
