Cobá, it lies between two lakes. It was one of the most important city-states in the entire Mayan domain

Archaeologists estimate that some 6,500 structures are still standing in the area. The city flourished from 600 to 900 AD. Cobá is divided into groups: the Cobá group, Nohoch-Mul group has one of the tallest pyramids ever found, with a height of 138 feet, the Mecanxoc group, and Group “D”.
