Fishing in Cozumel, the water surrounding the island swarms with more than two hundred species of fish

Cozumel is known worldwide as one of the best places for trolling, deep-sea fishing, and bottom fishing. The most common catches are swordfish, blue marlin, white marlin, blue fin tuna, and sailfish. The best season runs April through June, but you can catch mackerel, wahoo, dorado, bonito, barracuda, amberjack, and grouper in abundance all year round. You can also go bonefishing in the shallow flats, red snapper and grouper are the main game.
