· In 1566 when the Bishop Diego de Landa wrote to Spain to talk about the Well of Sacrifice in Chichen Itza, he compared this place with Jerusalem and Rome, since it was an arrival point for pilgrimages.
· It is estimated that only 20% of the site has been explore.
· In the ball game in Chichén Itzá, a whisper from end can be heard clearly at the other end 500 feet away and through the length and breath of the court. The sound waves are unaffected by wind direction or time of day/night.
